Overview: Mini-splits

Mini-splits and heat pump is our preferred HVAC system, as we can use it for heating and cooling. We will also have a modest wood stove in the living room for supplemental heating during power outages or during the very cold months when a mini-split system is less effective, but would opt for whatever system will be functional for those times as well.

Our top choice the Mitsubishi Premier mini-split system (see image below).

We want mini splits in the following room:

• bedrooms
• kitchen
• living room

We want efficient electric wall heaters in the bathrooms and laundry room.
